Enjoy a break in either Amblers Rest Cottage or Ground Floor Apartment which are close to the sea and to the centre of Amble. The child friendly Little Shore is only a two minute walk. Both are an ideal base from which to enjoy walking, bird watching, kite boarding, windsurfing, diving, canoeing and golf. The coastal links golf courses nearby are unbeatable. Then after a busy day what could be better than returning to Amblers Rest and relaxing with all the home comforts provided.

The bustling little seaport of Amble " The Friendliest Port" boasts a new marina and harbour, coastal walks to the bird sanctuary at Hauxley, and a coastline where one beautiful beach runs into another. Fishing boats moor along the harbour wall and land a variety of fish, prawns, crabs and lobsters which can all be bought locally. A mile to the south of Amble is Coquet Island, an RSPB bird sanctuary, with a large population of eider ducks, terns and puffins. Boat trips around the island are available. The area boasts sleepy fishing villages and majestic castles. Alnwick Garden and Castle, the location for many Harry Potter scenes, are just 9 miles away. Inland, about a 40 minute drive, is Northumberland National Park. Alnmouth Railway Station is 10 minutes by car, and a train to Edinburgh takes only an hour.
